Busser

The bus person is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for The Battery’s members and guests through warm, intuitive, and personalized service. This team member must be able to perform technically sound service backed by comprehensive food knowledge, and have the ability to anticipate needs, tailor their service style, and show a genuine sense of graciousness and hospitality to truly make The Battery feel like a home away from home for our members and guests. Bus persons must actively embody The Battery’s standards while in the workplace, both in interaction with fellow service team members, kitchen staff, guests, and management.

Prerequisites include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of fine dining or upscale casual experience required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English comprehensively.
  • Must be able to deal with guests in a professional manner while maintaining a composed demeanor in high stress situations.
Job responsibilities include:
  • Must have basic knowledge of menu items, food preparation techniques, and culinary terminology.
  • Expected to participate in daily service meetings.
  • Must be able to clearly and confidently communicate with the service team, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Be fully aware of service flow in all dining areas.
  • Set and reset all food service areas.
  • Assist service team in clearing china, glass, and silver from tables after each course or as necessary.
  • Deposit china, glassware, and silver in a standardized and orderly manner in the dishwashing area.
  • Stock and maintain the service side stations.
  • Maintain stock of condiments and service items in an organized, neat and hygienic manner.
  • Clean and organize service stations, including the sweeping and vacuuming of floors.
  • Have the ability to prepare all coffee, espresso, and espresso-based drinks to The Battery standards on a consistent basis.
  • Prepare all teas to The Battery’s standards on a consistent basis.
  • Read all POS orders received in the beverage station and to efficiently, neatly and quickly prepare drinks in order of receiving from the POS.
  • Stock and maintain all items needed for service, including coffee, tea, dairy, and ice in an organized, neat, and hygienic manner.
  • Pull and arrange tables and chairs for guests when appropriate.
  • Ongoing cleaning and maintenance of physical plant and workstation according to established restaurant procedures. This includes pre-shift, post-shift, daily, weekly, and monthly duties as assigned by management.
  • With the guidance of floor managers and F&B directors, may be asked to train new bus persons.
  • Must report problem situations to management immediately.
  • Responsible for adherence to dress code, grooming, and hygiene standards.
  • Required to attend mandatory meetings when scheduled.
  • Responsible for adherence to posted work schedule and arrival time. Must follow established procedures for schedule changes and arrival time. Schedule may include participation in private dining room events and/or off premise catering events.

Front Desk Agent

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel reception area. The Agent will continuously interact with guests, members, and hotel guest through various forms of communication, which will include, but not limited to, telephone, emails, and face-to-face conversations. In addition, the agent will monitor public areas at The Battery, whilst consistently providing members with unrivaled friendly and professional service. Furthermore, it is vital that this individual develop a rapport with all members, managers and staff to ensure an outstanding guest experience and creating a harmonious and fun environment for co-workers. All work related duties must be done onsite.

Prerequisites include:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Stamina to work up to 40+ hours per week in full-time positions.
  • Minimum of three years of high-end hospitality (AAA, 4 Diamond award level) experience.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Work with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Take direction well; understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Can creatively solve problems and effectively implement solutions.
  • Good time management skills; can manage and complete priorities and workflow, and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to learn and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Be able to deal with guests in a professional manner while always maintaining a composed demeanor.
Job responsibilities include:
  • General Operations:
  • Check guests in and out of their rooms.
  • Escort hotel guests to their rooms and give room orientation.
  • Greet members upon their arrival.
  • Answer phones as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel outlets and public areas including hours of operation, pricing and other member related issues.
  • Monitor guest reactions and confer frequently with hotel staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform proper execution of opening and closing procedures.
  • Monitor service to guests in all areas of the hotel.
  • Communicate with all applicable departments in a timely manner to ensure smooth continuous service to all members.
  • Review hotel reservations and plan for any special requests or VIPs accordingly.
  • Greet all hotel guests in a friendly, hospitable and professional manner and escort guests to their rooms.
  • Conduct frequent and consistent inspections of guest rooms and other public areas, ensuring that service opportunities are handled immediately.
  • Liaise with contracted cleaning personnel to ensure property is spotless at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain hotel supplies.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the hotel and public areas.
  • Coordinate any larger issues, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical with the maintenance company.
  • Customer Service and Guest Experience:
  • Ensure that telephone is being answered promptly and cordially.
  • Ensure that guests are being treated in a friendly and accommodating way.
  • Monitor staff appearance and take action as necessary.
  • Handles guest and member correspondence as necessary.
  • Profitability and Cost Controls:
  • Actively monitor inventory of supplies, products, etc. and maintain daily cost control percentages as set by the Hotel Manager.
  • Maintain par levels for all supplies and equipment for hotel operations completing requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement of Front Desk operations.

Security Associate

The Security Associate is responsible for the successful operation of all security functions and programs and to ensure the safety and security of all members, guests, and employees, as well as safeguarding all company property and assets by exercising sound judgment, as well as providing optimum quality and service levels during assigned shift. Working hours for this position may vary, depending on the needs of the operation.

Prerequisites include:
  • Ability to work a flexible weekly schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of a 2-year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of security experience required.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry or involving a substantial amount of public contact within a campus style environment is desirable.
  • Basic First Aid/CPR/AED training, along with valid training card.
  • A valid California Proprietary Private Security Officer card or California Guard card upon hiring.
  • Working knowledge of security and life safety systems is preferred.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity.
  • Stamina to work up to 40+ hours per week in full-time positions and able to have flexibility with scheduling.
  • Basic computer skills literate and able to use software programs (e.g., MS Office).
  • Works with a sense of urgency.

  • ADMINISTRATIVE:
  • Calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all The Battery paperwork, forms, reports, daily logs, audits, surveys, inspections, guidelines, policies, procedures, etc., are properly and completely executed per security guidelines.
  • Responsible for following company Lost and Found guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the audits of all locks, card keys, and hard keys when required.
  • Responsible for making card keys, referring lock issues to engineering and for other related locking duties per The Battery guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain an effective working and professional relationship with all departments, management members, law enforcement, fire department and paramedic personnel.
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining the security database programs per The Battery guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date and abreast all new guidelines, policies, procedures and developments related to The Battery, the security department, along with local, state and national security updates.
  • PATROL AND OTHER TASKS:
  • Responsible for successful operation of assigned shift.
  • Acts with approval from Director of Security, but with full authority within his/her scope to ensure that all company safety and security guidelines, programs, policies, procedures and duties are adhered too.
  • Responsible for effective communication with members, guests, management and employees.
  • Responsible for routine property patrols and assignments, and ensure that your patrols and assignments are conducted per security department guidelines.
  • Responsible for conducting a full pass down of detailed information to next security shift.
  • Responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for all members, guest and employees.
  • Respond to all calls for service and emergencies per security guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Handle all emergency situations when necessary along with the MOD. This may require administering CPR, AED and/or First Aid as needed to members, guests, or employees, while taking control of the situation.
  • Share in the responsibility for the safe operation and care of security equipment.
  • Follow all security, fire and safety protocols, standards, procedures, policies, procedures programs and regulations as outlined in The Battery materials.
  • Must remain focused, alert, and attentive at all times on the job, restricting use of any personal cell phone, PDA, digital music devices, or other devices that may limit your focus and attention while working.

Server

The Server is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for The Battery’s members and guests through warm, intuitive, and personalized service. This team member must be able to perform technically sound service backed by comprehensive food and beverage knowledge, and have the ability to anticipate needs, tailor their service style, and show a genuine sense of graciousness and hospitality to truly make The Battery feel like a home away from home for our members and guests. This staff member represents The Battery’s service team to our guests through their ability to expertly perform the essential job functions listed in this document, as well as The Battery’s steps of service, as outlined in the service manual. Casual dining servers must actively embody The Battery’s standards while in the workplace, both in interaction with fellow service team members, kitchen staff, guests, and management.

Prerequisites include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of upscale casual or fine dining experienced required.
  • Must be able to perform server and bus person’s duties.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English comprehensively.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Must wear proper uniform and be able to deal with guests in a professional manner while maintaining a composed demeanor in high stress situations.
Job responsibilities include:
  • Greet guests, accurately take food and drink order and enter it into the POS.
  • Have detailed knowledge of our wine and spirits selection, including technical and service aspects of each.
  • Articulately describe all menu items, including daily additions to the menu.
  • Adhere to established accounting procedures for all transactions and accurately close checks of any tender.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of menu items, food preparation techniques, and culinary terminology.
  • With the guidance of Floor Managers and F&B Directors, may be asked to train new service staff.
  • Required to attend mandatory meetings when scheduled.
